Working through chapter 5 gives you the chance to hollow out your solid cubes and start creating realistic objects. Other that briefly with the multiple spheres in chapter three this is the first time I’ve felt that I was ‘actually’ drawing.
The treasure chest in the middle of the page was the suggested bonus exercise at the end of the chapter. It’s a quick exercise, with plenty of room for you to add treasure and other embellishments if you’re so inclined. I decided to experiment with perspective and alternate flap placement instead. The cluster of three cardboard boxes seen at the bottom of the page is the result of looking at google images for some reference photographs.
