Straight edges make a triumphant return in Lesson 4!
Who doesn’t like drawing a good cube? Personally I would have liked to start the book with cubes, but I concede that being able to produce 3d spheres gives you a higher feeling of accomplishment, so I can understand their coming first.
As illustrated above cubes don’t get much in the way of blending, in fact I didn’t blend anything on the cubes pictured, so my hands are nice and clean at the end of my half an hour drawing session.
It’s getting pretty tempting to skip ahead when hitting areas of the book I consider ‘easy’, but I’m resisting the impulse and making sure I read everything, even if I don’t choose to engage with the bonus lesson exercises.
