Those of you that know me on Twitter may know that I’ve decided it’s time I flirted with couch to 5k again.
Couch to 5k is a nine week beginners running program that uses interval training to progress you from being a simple walker to running.
I have never actually made it to week 9 of the program and been able to run for a solid 30 minutes, but what I have discovered is that each time I go back to the program I’m fitter than the last time I started and more easily pick back up the rhythm of running again.
Yesterday I spent a good hour or so convincing myself that I should avoid going for a work out because I had slightly hairy legs. Now, I’m fairly lazy on a good day but this was a whole new level of sloth, a total regression to the version of me who could put away a whole pizza for dinner and go back for ice-cream. The last month has been a spectacular failure on the willpower front and avoiding a work-out because of stubble just seemed to be IT, the straw that was going to break this camel’s back.
Enter my trusty friend C25k, a long pair of pants and a treadmill…
Time to get back on the exercise pony!
